Friendship is Magical

Sparks flew from the tip of her wand and sizzled out on the icy ground. Mitri's magic never seemed to lose its charm, but sometimes she wondered why she of all Muggles had been born a witch. She didn't come from a prestigious background, was merely average physically and mentally, yet she out of so many had received the gift of magic.

Sometimes, Mitri reckoned her magic was a curse. The ever stinging 'Mudblood' chased her dreams, the taunts seemed endless. Mitri longed for the naivety she had starting Hogwarts, a new start she had hoped, but one destined to be darkened by prejudice.

Settling down onto the frosty ground, Mitri put her wand away and laid back onto the snow, carving an alabaster angel in the snow. Hearing the crunch of feet against the snow she didn't bother looking up.

"Fancy some angel making? It's quite soothing," Mitri asked contently moving her arms and legs in a steady motion.

Mira walked contently along the path to the lake, listening to her footsteps crunch in the snow. It was at least two feet deep, but the sun was out and the air was slightly warm. It was the perfect day for a walk.

"That's curious," she muttered, stooping down to pick a lone flower popping out of the snow.

Flower in hand, she continued on her merry way. The lake was beautiful in the winter; all ice dusted with frost. On days like this, you could even spot the giant squid moving beneath the surface. Mira wondered if he ever got lonely in the cold, black water.

"Oh, hello!" she greeted Mitri, surprised to find the girl here.

It had taken her a moment to realize who she was, of course; Mitri was quite hidden in her angel hole. Mira bit her lip, not certain if she should follow the leader on this one. She could easily catch her death lying in the cold wet snow..but, you only live once, right? She plopped down next to the Gryffindor and commenced snow-angel-making.

Aubrey walked happily throght the pass to the like. She looked at the sun and the clouds. What a beautiful day for a walk by the lake, it would be fun too to meet sim people as I currently have no friends. she finally reached the end of the path were she found two girls one of them was Mira a fellow a hufflepuff and the oth was a Gryffindor that she didn't know.

"Hmm. Hello Mira and..."She realizes that both of them were on the floor.

"What are you doing there?" She asked curiously and waited...

Wil made sure she was bundled up tightly before she went out into the freezing cold. There was something about the cold that she loved. Maybe it signaled that snow was coming or had already come. Or the way that the cold breeze tickled her nose. She had no idea why she loved the cold so much.
Maybe I'll sit by the lake and talk to the squid or the merpeople. Though technically she knew that they couldn't hear her and even if they could they wouldn't be able to understand her but she loved to talk to them sometimes more than she liked talking to her peers.
When she arrived at the lake she already saw three other girls sitting, no, making snow angels around it. I love snow angels She strolled over to greet her classmates. She decided she'd have that chat another day.
"Hello, may I join?" She didn't know any of them by name but she thought this might be the chance to branch out from her little bubble. What better time to branch out than this. They are outside and enjoying themselves and making snow angels.

Mira sat up in the angel-shaped pit she’d made for herself, hearing two new voices. To her delight, they both belonged to fellow Hufflepuffs. It didn’t surprise her that she and Mitri weren’t the only students out, it was a lovely day. Cold, but not too cold; sunny, but not so much that it melted the snow.

“We’re making snow angels, of course,” she replied with a smile. "I'm Mira; I can't believe we haven't met, we're in the same house!"

Letting herself fall back into the snow, she stared up at the clouds and breathed in the fresh air. What else could one do in the snow? Snowball fights were messy, and she’d just been in one a couple weeks ago in the Owlery. Walking on the lake would be dangerous…

“I have an idea!” Mira popped back up again and looked around at the other girls. “Why don’t we build a snowman? Better yet..a snow badger!”

After all, it was three Hufflepuffs to one Gryffindor.

Wil was pleased that she decided to come out of her bubble. She thought that a badger snow man sounded fun and to top it all off, she has never made a badger one before. However, it sounded like a challenge because she wasn't all that artistic. Hopefully some of my other peers are.
"That sounds fun, I'm Wilfreda but you can call me Wil." She better explain why they had never met. " I'm extremely shy. I suppose that's why we haven't met. I usually keep to myself but as of this year I am branching out. Making new friends and hopefully no enemies. But won't our other peer have a problem with a badger? She knew that one of them was gryffindor and though she knew defensive spells she hated using them.

Aubrey noticed their conversation and asked politely and quietly.

[b]"Hello, please may I help you in building the snow badger? I am Aubrey, a first class hufflepuff. What about you?

She really wanted to do the so she waited. [i] I love everything hufflepuff related [i]

Wil was beyond happy. She wouldn't have to sit alone in classes and at meals.
"I can't speak for the others but I wouldn't mind you joining. To be honest I've already been thinking of a name." She blushed but you really couldn't tell because her cheeks were already pink from the cold."I was thinking about Ruffles. I mean, it doesn't have to be that. I just think it's a cute name." Wil blushed again. Then Finnius walked by with his buddies. "Isn't Finnius just so dreamy?" Wil sighed. She looked at the other girls to tell her that she shouldn't say that kind of stuff; not even think about it.

((OOC: I don’t know when Mac will be back, so we’re just going to pretend that Mitri is not here.))

Mira jumped up and down on her toes she was so excited; she was also cold, and constant movement seemed to help.

“I think Ruffles is a simply splendid name,” she assured Wil. “In fact, I once had a rabbit I named Ruffles.”

It wasn’t really her rabbit, just one from the woods surrounding her village. But it came to her cottage quite often, so she fed it food from their measly garden and talked to it. Thinking of the village and her beloved woods made her rather homesick. The subject left her mind, however, when she heard Wilfreda mention Finn. As he walked by he and Mira smiled at each other and waved. The Hufflepuff captain had become something of a brother to her the past few months, so she didn’t really want to talk about him ‘romantically’.

“He isn’t terribly hard to look at,” she agreed wholeheartedly, starting to build up a mound of snow. “He is a fifth year though, and I hear he has a muggle girl back home he wants to marry.”

"Sorry, those thoughts just slipped out. I mean, I'm a teenage girl. I'm sure centuries from now teenage girls will be gossiping about the guys they like. I know he's totally out of my league and why would he want a first year girl who isn't too fond of quidditch. Wil blushed and started helping Mira build the badger. "I'm happy that we agree on the name though."

Aubrey started helping them both build the badger, it looked like they are almost done. "It looks great until now"

Oh no! Have I ruined it? I'm not the greatest artist? Wil worried.Aubrey was right the ears and tail wasn't turning out correctly.
"I'm sorry guys, it was probably me. I suck at art. What do you think we should do. I mean we could leave it as it is and act like it was meant to that way but then it would feel like we are making fun of own house. But then who has to know it was us except Mitri." She was hoping that they had other ideas like using a spell to make it look better.

Aubrey looked at the tail. It doesn't seem bad

"We could just fix it, it won't be hard, will it?"

Mira stood back a ways and stared at the snow badger. It didn’t look bad at all, what were they talking about? Then she saw it - the sun shining down seemed to be melting the ears a bit, and the tail was too skinny to be right.

“The tail won’t be hard to fix,” she assured them, walking around the animal and observing. “We just need to pack on a bit more snow. The ears, however…”

She would have to give that one a bit more thought. It wasn’t as though they could stop the sun from being so hot, right? Then she remembered a story Deirdre had told her, about a time at the lake when they froze the water and walked on the ice. What was that spell Adele had taught them? Grinning ear to ear, Mira patted a bit more snow on one of the ears and took out her wand.

“Glacius,” she said loudly, and the snow-ear froze. “If we do this to the entire badger, it won’t melt for days!”

Wil smiled. She was glad that the badger wasn't gone. Wil didn't want anyone thinking that they, hufflepuffs, didn't know how to make a snow badger but to be fair it wouldn't be as easy as a snake. Then Wil had an idea. What if we do all the houses but we do the other houses in a cartoon-ish way. Then blame it on some prankster boys. No that might be too mean but it would be fun to do the rest of the houses animals.
"It was so fun making a badger, why don't we make the rest of the houses? A snake would be so easy."

“Let’s take it one house at a time, ladies,” Mira suggested, looking at the unfinished badger. “Or you get started on the other houses, and I’ll finish freezing this.”

Mira crouched down by Ruffles and muttered the freezing charm. As the ice spread through the badger, it stiffened and soon looked almost like an ice sculpture. There was still something missing, though. Mira stood back and surveyed their work.. What did it need?

“Let’s color it!” she exclaimed with a grin. “Colovaria!”

Color spread across the badger, black and inky. By the time it was complete, the thing that was once a pile of snow looked almost life-like.

Wil smiled that Mira liked her idea. She was so unused to that. She's never had friends before, at least not magickal ones. Wil also liked Mira's idea to color Ruffles.
"Uhm, is it okay if I take the snake? I'm afraid of messing the other two up." Wil turned away for just a second and when she turned back she saw this real life badger and it was beautiful. She couldn't believe she did that with a lot of help.Actually, it was more them than me.

Tomkin Hugh Davison was walking through the snow on his own when he heard the voices of the girls. Hiding behind a ridge of snow he watched their building happily. Then, he noticed the completed badger. It was really good. Thus, he climbed over the ridge and walked up from behind the focused girls, tapping Mira on the shoulder he asked genuinely
"mind if I join in?"

Mira had begun building the lion of Gryffindor as soon as she pictured in her mind how she wanted to do it. She figured if she froze it one section at a time, she could make a standing lion rather than one laying down. Finishing up the first part (four legs), she took a deep breath and was just about to cast the freezing spell when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

“Of course you can join us,” she smiled excitedly. “The more the merrier! Your name is Hugh, isn’t it? You could get started on Ravenclaw if you like.”

Confidently, Mira cast the spell and watched as the four legs froze, becoming legs carved out of ice rather than snow. Pocketing her wand, she crouched down and piled snow on the two back legs for the hindquarters. “Glacius.” She went on like this for a while, freezing one section at a time. After about twenty minutes, she had successfully made the body of the lion.

“How are you guys doing?”

Wil didn't know how long to make the snake. She didn't want to make it too long because then it would be a basilisk.But those are only myths right? Surely they can't be real. No matter what Judas says. Judas had once told her that there was one living in the castle that Salazar put one in there just before he left. He told her it was in the family legends and history. He said legends and history, it can't be both. He's just messing with me but still how long should I make this thing and then what about the head. How big should it be and what about the eyes? Should I add a tongue?Wil looked at their badger and it's length.But badgers are by nature smaller in length.
"Just fine Mira but how long should I make this thing and on your opinion should I have it hissing with it's tongue or not?"
