PostSubject: Ollivander's Wand Shop   12/16/2012, 12:08 pm

As Mitri opened the door, a bell rang signaling her entrance. Mitri had had quite a busy morning. She and her parents had been escorted to Diagon Alley by Professor Aitken. Mitri thought the woman looked as if she had sucked on a lemon before arriving at Mitri's house, because it was so pinched. The professor had taken Mitri's parents to Gringotts to convert their money, and told Mitri to go into Ollivander's and look for wand because, "you can't cause much trouble in there."

When walking to Ollivander's Mitri nearly missed it, for she was not expecting its haggard appearance. Luckily she did see it, otherwise she would not have known what to do, she'd probably have one of the various people rushing through Diagon Alley. When she had walked in, the shopkeeper stepped out from behind the counter and approached her.

"Why hello dear, how may I help you today?" the man asked kindly.

"Umm, I need a wand?" she said, blushing.

"You've come to the right place my dear, let me get you some wands to try, you look like a rowan girl."

With that, the man scurried off to the back of the shop gathering wands as he went. Mitri, still blushing, turned to the door when she heard the bell ring once again.

"H-hi. The shopkeeper is collecting me wands right now, but I'm sure he'll be back soon. Sorry." she said smiling at the person sweetly.

Annora slipped through the door of Ollivander's. She'd finally gotten a spare moment to get her wand, and she was very excited. She'll officially be a witch once she had it in hand.

There was already a girl there, about Annora's age with brown hair and eyes, so Annora would have to wait her turn.

"H-hi. The shopkeeper is collecting me wands right now, but I'm sure he'll be back soon. Sorry," the girl said, smiling.

"Oh, it's alright. I believe he only helps one person at a time. At least this way I can be away from my chores a bit longer without a lie! I'm Annora, my papa owns the smithery here in Diagon Alley. The Mystical Farrier. Going to Hogwarts?" Annora smiled at the girl, and took a seat by the door on one of the dusty chairs.

The girl seemed nice enough to Mitri, very amiable. Mitri presumed the girl was a Pureblood, being that her father worked on Diagon Alley. Mitri wasn't quite sure it'd be wise to reveal her blood status so soon, but she'd rather find out whether this girl was prejudiced, like the professor had warned some to be, now than later.

"I've never seen The Mystical Farrier, in fact this is my first time to visit Diagon Alley. I'm a Muggleborn you see, Professor Aitken escorted my parents and I here today to collect my supplies for Hogwarts. I think that answers all your question, but now I have on for you. What is your name? I'm Mitri."

Mitri took a seat beside the girl, and waited anxiously for her reply. She'd either make a friend in her, or an enemy. Mitri sincerely hoped it wouldn't be the second option. Enemies were many for her, as she was a rather original character and many thought her odd. Her being a witch didn't help, the accidental magic she had done when she was younger only served more to isolate her from people her age. When her letter had arrived, Mitri felt this was right, that at Hogwarts she might belong. If she didn't, she'd mold Hogwarts into fitting her. Hogwarts better prepare, because Mitri Montgomery was coming its way.

Gwendolen was beyond excited, she was finally gonna receive her wand. She practically skipped and danced into Ollivander's. Sadly, it looked as if there was a line, on the bright side there were two other girls her age waiting as well.

"Hello, excited about having a want choose you?" Gwen asked them both.

"Have you any idea of what type of wand will pick you? My mom swears I'll have a pine wand, she says its just my type, my father however thinks a Hazel wand will pick me because I am at home in the water. ." Gwen explained. "They both agreed that I'd probably get a phoenix core though."

Gwen plopped into an empty seat by the others, "Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce myself, my name is Gwendolen. although most people just call me Gwen"

Annora smiled as the girl sat down. "Oh! Sorry, I must have mumbled again. I'm always being scolded about that. Annora. Annora Ditton. And yes, I'm a pureblood, if you were wondering." She smiled reassuringly. "My father has always taught me that magic is magic, no matter who has it. It still works the same."

Deciding on a subject change, Annora asked, "Isn't Diagon Alley amazing? I've lived here for as long as I can remember, and it's never been less than amazing here."

Just at that moment another girl their age walked in, and then asked them about getting their wands. "I am very excited. I went with my closest brother, Merek, when he got his wand two years ago. I begged to get mine then, but they said no! I haven't really thought about the type, though. I'm Annora." She gestured next to her. "This is Mitri. It's her first time here, and I think I'll ask my papa if I can escort her around and show her a few things. An excuse to stay out of the shop is always a good one!"

The wand shop was certainly getting busier by the moment. There was now a girl with brown curly hair who introduced herself as Morgana, Annora who also had curly hair but blonde, Gwendolen a rather tall brunette, and of course Mitri and the shopkeeper. Mitri was afraid that the wand shop wouldn't be able to fit many more before it became hard to breathe. Perhaps the shopkeeper should hire an assistant seeing how busy it was today.

"Hi Gwen! The shopkeeper said I look like a 'rowan girl,' I assume that's some sort of wood. I never really was big on plants. Annora, having you show me around would be splendid! If your father is fine with it, I'm sure I could convince my parents to let me go with you. Hi, Morgana how're you?"

Mitri began to fidget in her chair, unused to being still for such long periods of time. She rose and begun to pace the shop's width.

"Wherever could the shopkeeper be? You don't think he fell?" she asked worriedly.
